BEKWAI MARKS 68TH INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH A CALL TO REFLECT, REVIEW, AND RESET

The 68th Independence Day celebration was held in Bekwai on March 6, 2025, under the national theme: "Reflect, Review, Reset." The event, which took place at Gyamfi's Park in Bekwai, brought together dignitaries, students, and community members in a grand display of patriotism and unity.

Notable attendees included the Municipal Coordinating Director, who also serves as the Acting Municipal Chief Executive, Ms. Sheila Rosetta Arthur; the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bekwai Constituency, Hon. Ralph Poku Adusei; and the Paramount Chief of the Bekwai Traditional Council, Nana Osei Kwadwo II. Other distinguished guests comprised religious leaders, executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), heads of departments from the Bekwai Municipal Assembly, cadet corps from Senior High Schools in the municipality, selected basic school pupils, and members of the general public.

The event featured a captivating march-past by various schools and cadet drills, thrilling the audience with precision and discipline. In her address, Ms. Sheila Rosetta Arthur emphasized the importance of patriotism among students and the community. She encouraged collective support for the government as the nation undergoes a period of reflection, review, and resetting for a better future.

Hon. Ralph Poku Adusei also urged all citizens to remain diligent in their pursuits, striving for excellence in all aspects of life.

Chairing the occasion, Nana Osei Kwadwo II, the Paramount Chief of the Bekwai Traditional Council, expressed his gratitude to all attendees for their participation and support in making the event a success.

The celebration in Bekwai highlighted the significance of national unity, discipline, and commitment to progress as Ghana marks another milestone in its independence history.
