The Municipal Chief Executive for Bekwai, Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour has assured the people in the municipality that he would operate an open-door policy in his administration in order to better the living conditions of the people in the municipality.

Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour gave this assurance at a Town Hall meeting which was organized by the Municipal Assembly and was held at Kokofu. The Chief Executive hinted that, the town hall meeting is aimed at engaging with the various segments of the community as it offers a cross section of the populace to seek clarification from the Assembly.

He presented to the people highlights of some development projects his administrations has done within his assumption in office. Key amongst them are construction of a bridges at Odumase/Aboaso bridge, Asokore/Dotom bridge, Koniyaw/Gyasikrom bridge, rehabilitation of a 3-unit classroom block at Asanso among others.

Commenting on the government’s flagship One District, One Factory programme, Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour hinted that, the Assembly is working towards having about three factories which will create jobs for the youth in the municipality. He said feasibility studies about these three factories has been done and forwarded to Accra for the necessary action to be taken.

The Chief Executive called on the residents to support the Assembly by paying their taxes for the Assembly to raise enough revenue to complete all ongoing projects in the municipality. He stated that, the Assembly is initiating several projects within the municipality and key amongst them is the construction of a modern toilet facility at Kokofu, grading of feeder roads within the community, CHPS Compound among others.

Hon Kwaku Kyei Baffour therefore urged the people to be patient with the government but was quick to say, the President, Nana Akuffo Addo will surely fulfill all his campaign promises. He was grateful to the people for responding to the invitation to attend the meeting and assured them that their contributions and grievances will all be considered.

The meeting was well attended by Hon. Assembly members, Heads of Departments, Traditional leaders, Imams and residents of Kokofu and its catchment areas. Notables among them was the Omanhene of Kokofu traditional Council, Barima Akwasi Offeh Okogyeasuo II who doubled as the chairman for the occasion.
