A two-day orientation and training program for Assembly Members of the Bekwai Municipal Assembly was held on Wednesday, 16th October, and Thursday, 17th October, 2024, at the Bekwai Municipal Assembly Hall. The event, organized to enhance the capacities of Assembly Members, was well-attended by all Assembly Members of the municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour, was present, along with other key dignitaries. The program was facilitated by the Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS), whose representatives provided critical insights on effective local governance, leadership, and administrative roles.
The event was aimed at equipping Assembly Members with the knowledge and skills needed to improve their performance in their various districts and municipalities across the country.
Key topics discussed included local governance laws, budgetary and financial management, and strategies for effective community engagement.
The training was described as timely and essential for enhancing governance at the grassroots level.
