The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) on Tuesday, 4th January, 2022 visited Kokotro Anamonso in the Bekwai Municipality.

This was subsequent to a request from the chief of Kokotro, Nana Kusi Adom through the Hon Assembly Member of Kokotro, Mr. Antwi Collins for the GTA to include Anamonso site on the list of attractions in the Ashanti Region. Towards the visit, Hon. Municipal Chief Executive of Bekwai Municipal Assembly, Mr. Kwaku Kyei Baffour assigned Mr. Kenneth Opoku Amponsah (Municipal Cultural Officer, BMA) to partner with Mr. Peter Theophilus Acheampong, the Ashanti Regional Manager of GTA and Mr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Senior Quality Assurance Officer of the GTA.

The three joined the elders of Kokotro Community to visit the site to ascertain the possibility of developing and marketing the product both domestically and internationally. On arrival at the chief’s palace at Kokotro, the officers were warmly welcomed and were told a little history about the site. Thereafter the officers and the elders of the community visited the site.
