SENSITIZATION ON MARBURG VIRUS

The Municipal Health Directorate held a meeting to review its preparedness and response plan for Marburg Virus Disease at the Municipal Assembly’s Conference Room on Thursday, 24th November 2022. Following confirmation of Marburg Virus in Ghana, the various responds pillars have been activated resulting in the containment of the Marburg virus disease hence responds must still remain functional.

In view of above, USAAID Breakthrough Action Project has been working with health promotion division of Ghana Health Service to strengthen RCCE at National and lower level of Health service to improve positive behavior towards containing the Marburg disease.     

In attendance was one representative from each of the following Agencies/Departments; Forestry/Wildlife, Information Service, Ghana Education Service-SHEP, Environmental Health, Agric/Veterinary, NADMO, NCCE, Community Development, CSO, Religious Council of Churches, Muslim Council, Traditional Council, Local Media and the Municipal Health Directorate.
