
Bekwai, 6th August 2024 - The Bekwai Municipal Assembly (BMA), under the leadership of Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour, has made a significant contribution to the educational landscape of the municipality. On Tuesday, 6th August 2024, Hon. Kyei Baffour handed over 750 dual desks to the Education Directorate at a ceremony held at the premises of the Bekwai Municipal Assembly.
The desks, aimed at alleviating the shortage in hard-pressed schools across the municipality, were received by Municipal Education Director Mrs. Leticia Obeng, who accepted the items on behalf of the directorate. This initiative is part of the BMA’s ongoing efforts to enhance the learning environment and improve the educational outcomes for students in the area.
Hon. Kyei Baffour emphasized the importance of providing adequate resources to schools, highlighting that education is a cornerstone of community development. "By investing in our children’s education, we are investing in the future of our municipality," he stated.
Mrs. Leticia Obeng expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that the desks would significantly improve classroom conditions and enhance the learning experience for many students.
The distribution of these desks to schools in need is set to commence immediately, prioritizing institutions with the most urgent requirements. This move is expected to have a lasting impact on the educational infrastructure within the Bekwai Municipality.
