Essumeja, Ashanti Region – May 22, 2025 - The newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bekwai, Hon. Issaka Salifu, following his official assumption of duty on Monday, May 19, 2025, has paid a courtesy call on the Essumeja Manhene, Nana Okyere Kusi Ntrama, as part of his familiarization and stakeholder engagement tour.
The visit, which took place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, was the MCE’s first official interaction with the traditional leadership of Essumeja since his confirmation by the Assembly Members of the Bekwai Municipal Assembly.
During the visit, the MCE expressed his gratitude to the chiefs and people of Essumeja for their continuous support to the development of the municipality. He reaffirmed his commitment to collaborate with traditional leaders to ensure inclusive governance and sustainable development across all communities in the municipality.
The MCE highlighted some priority areas including education, sanitation, youth development, and infrastructural improvement. He further pledged to maintain an open-door policy and ensure regular consultation with traditional authorities in all decision-making processes.
Nana Okyere Kusi Ntrama warmly welcomed the MCE and commended him for recognizing the importance of traditional leadership in local governance. The chief expressed confidence in the new MCE’s leadership and assured him of the traditional council’s full support in achieving the developmental goals of the municipality.
The meeting was attended by elders of the Essumeja Traditional Council, representatives from the Municipal Assembly, and community stakeholders. It ended with the exchange of blessings and goodwill messages.
The visit forms part of the MCE’s commitment to building strong partnerships with key community leaders as he begins his tenure of service.
