The Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Collins Ntim on 6th September 2017 visited the Bekwai Municipal Assembly.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Bekwai, Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour hosted the minister at the Community ICT Centre Conference Room in Bekwai. The Minister together with his team was embarking on a familiarization tour in the region.
In a closed door meeting with all the Heads of Decentralised Departments, the Deputy Minister informed members that his visit is to interact with them, share ideas and see the way forward for the development of the Municipality.
The Minister tasked the Heads of Departments to ensure an effective and judicious use of all available resources in order for them to achieve their planned programs, policies and targets.
Hon. Collins Ntim advised members present to be transparent in their dealings and eschew corrupt practices which he said can create a bad image for the municipality and the government as well.
He urged the Assembly to set their priorities right and work hard to achieve them in spite of the numerous challenges.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Bekwai, Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour lauded the Minister for the visit and pledged their support to ensure the development of the Municipality.
Present at the meeting were Mr. Samuel Gyedu Nuako, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Alhaji Mohammed Nafiq, Municipal Finance Officer, Mr. Agyare Frimpong, Municipal Culture Officer, Mr. Issac Kumi, the Municipal Engineer among others.
