MCE EMBARKS ON FAMILIARIZATION TOUR

The Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive Hon, Kwaku Kyei Baffour together with some technocrats of the Assembly and some NPP party executives has embarked on the first phase of a familirization tour to communities in the Municipality to introduce himself officially to Nananom and residents of the community.

The Municipal Chief Executive and his entourage were welcomed to the various communities, Asamang, Adankraja, Kokofu, Ofoase Kokoben, Essumeja, Denyase and Anwiankwanta.

The tour is to acquaint himself with the people and also to listen to the problems facing the various communities in the municipality. Hon. Kyei Baffour assured the residents of the community that his ears are readily prepared to listen their cries.

He told Nananom that, his doors are always opened for their opinions, suggestions and even criticism that will help the municipality to move forward.

The MCE expressed his concern about the unemployment rate in the municipality especialy among the youth and asked them to take advantage of the Planting for Food and Jobs Policy by the NPP Government. He told the people that, the president will fulfil all his campaign promises and appealed to them to exercise restraints and pray for God’s protection for the President.

Barima Offeh Akwasi Okogyeasuo II, Omanhene of Kokofu Traditional Council assured the MCE that, he and his elders will offer the needed support for his administration to enable him perform creditably. He advised the MCE to inform Nananom about contracts they award, to enable them monitor it to avoid shoddy works by some contractors.

Barima Okogyeasuo II, appealed to the Municipal Assembly to renovate the only Junior High School in the Community and also to provide them with a place of convenience to address the sanitation problems in the community. In almost all the communities visited, the problems facing them includes portable drinking water, bad roads, toilet facilities, electricity extension, health centers, deplorable state of some school buildings among others.
