On Saturday 8th June 2019, the youth, Kente weavers and the people of Kwaman-Abesewa couldn't hide their joy and appreciation when the MCE for Bekwai, Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour on behalf of Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu (MP, Bekwai) visited the town to hand over site to the contractor for an ultra modern Kente market.

The market when completed will have a restaurant, stores, space for weavers, showrooms and washrooms.

Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu, MP for Bekwai constituency had earlier this year presented a cheque for GHc 130,000 to Kwamang-Abesewa community for the construction of the market.

This Kente market is in fulfillment of a promise made the by Hon. MP when he got to know how huge the Kente business is in that community during his house to house campaign in 2016.

The youth of Kwamang-Abesewa who are mainly into Kente weaving were very happy for the fulfilled promise and thanked the MP for helping to formalize and organize their trade at a central location which will help grow their trade.
