The Office of the Head of Local Government Service (OHLGS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP) and the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development (MLGDRD), is organizing a four-day coaching session on the application of Child Protection Community Facilitation Toolkits. This important exercise is set to begin on Monday, 7th October 2024.
The event is specifically designed for ten newly selected Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) across the country, with the Bekwai Municipal Assembly being one of the beneficiaries. This initiative is part of a broader support package provided by UNICEF to strengthen child protection systems.
The coaching programme aims to enhance the capacity of stakeholders within the selected MMDAs through targeted training and coaching. Participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required to effectively use the Child Protection Community Facilitation Toolkits, ensuring they can apply the tools to support community-based child protection interventions.
This initiative is also aligned with the Integrated Social Services Delivery (ISSD) system, which seeks to provide a holistic and coordinated approach to social service delivery across the country. By improving the capacity of local stakeholders, the programme contributes to building a more robust and efficient child protection framework in communities.
