The Directorate on 18th of April, 2022 organized a Cook Art Festival for Senior High Schools in the Municipality. Competing schools were:
- SDA Senior High School, Bekwai
- Wesley High School, Bekwai
- St Joseph’s Senior High School
- Ofoase Kokoben Senior High School.
- Oppon Memorial Senior High School
The competing schools were tasked to prepare three different varieties of traditional Ghanaian dishes. Foods prepared and displayed were Fufu with Abuna buna Nkwan, Eto, abetiз, adibi, aprзprзnsa, sobolo, zonkom, ginger drink etc. Also on display were artefacts made by the visual art students of Bekwai SDA SHS. The program was initiated and solely sponsored by the Hon Member of Parliament for Bekwai Constituency, Hon Joe Osei-wusu.
At the end of the contest, Bekwai SDA SHS emerged first while Oppon Memorial SHS came last in the order as arranged above.
