In line with their mandate to ensure that no child or citizen is left out, the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC), together with their partners, International Telecommunications Union (ITU), and CISCO has introduced the Digital Transformation Centres (DTC), which forms part of a broader goal of building an inclusive digital society.

Pursuant to this, GIFEC on Friday 4th February, 2022 commenced a 10-day training for some entrepreneurs and students in the municipality.

The main objective of this project is to expand the digital capabilities and benefits of ICT to the marginalized population, particularly in the unserved and underserved communities in Ghana.

Speaking at the gathering, the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour urged all participants to develop passion in learning ICT since it is gradually becoming the driving force of the country’s economy. He encouraged them to persevere in all their endeavour to attain success.

The Ashanti Regional Zonal Co-ordinator of GIFEC Mr Andrew Akiti also added that even though certificates will be given to participants at the end of the training, they are going to be assessed to obtain the certificate on merit. He urged all to be punctual and regular throughout the period of the training and be very attentive when training is in session, in order to pass the certification exams.

Participants at the program assured the MCE and the zonal coordinator that they will adhere to their counsel and commended them for such an initiative.
