
The President of the Republic, in recognition of the leadership, passion, commitment, hard work and sacrifices to saving lives and helping the nation during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic awarded Presidential honour to the Frontline Workers.
A symbolic presentation was therefore made to selected representatives of the Frontline workers on 14th March, 2023 at the Jubilee House, Accra. All Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies were mandated to cascade the presentation of the awards to remaining awardees nationwide through Regional Coordinating Councils.
In pursuit to the above, the Bekwai Municipal Assembly (BMA) received a total of eighty (80) certificates of the Presidential Honour for Distinguished Service for presentation to the Awardees consisted of Health and Allied Workers. A durbar was organized at the Bekwai Municipal Assembly on 25th July, 2023 in honour of the Awardees.
The Honorable Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Kwaku Kyei-Baffour used the occasion to present the certificates of the Presidential Honour to Awardees. He on behalf of the President expressed appreciation and congratulated all stakeholders and the Awardees for their service and sacrifices to the Country. He encouraged all to continue to dedicate themselves to building the nation.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Municipal Director of Health Service and other dignitaries in their speeches commended the Awardees and thanked all the stakeholders for their team spirit and effective collaborative efforts in the fight against the covid-19 pandemic. They advised everyone to continue to support the campaign including the public vaccinations to help bring the disease under total control.
The ceremony was graced by Traditional leaders, representatives of Religious Organizations, honorable members, Departments and Agencies, Media/Community Information Centre Operators. The leadership and representatives of health facilities in the Municipality and the Awardees attended. The Honorable MCE and the Municipal Coordinating Director played host. The people commended the Awardees for their roles and encouraged them to continue their distinguished services to the country.
