On Friday, 28th April, 2023 the Bekwai Municipal Assembly (BMA) held its First Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Eight Assembly. The meeting was held at the Bekwai Methodist Church Conference Hall.
The Assembly, led by its Hon. Presiding Member (PM), Mr Gabriel Twumasi Ankrah started the meeting with an opening prayer. It was followed by the opening remarks by the Hon. PM, in which he welcomed all Members to the Assembly.
Subsequently, a reading of previous minutes was made after which it was accepted by the house after a short deliberation. The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of BMA, Mr. Kwaku Kyei Baffour delivered his Sessional Address which was immediately followed by a discussion of the Address.
The Assembly, in its previous siting, resolved to summon the Ghana Highway Authority Engineer, the Urban Roads Engineer, and the Feeder Roads Engineer to respond to various issues that concern the roads network in the municipality. The various heads swiftly responded to the summon and addressed the issues amicably.
Also, the Manager of the Bekwai Community Water and Sanitation Agency who was also summoned attended the meeting and addressed the concerns of the house. It was followed by a presentation and discussion of Executive Committee Report as well as a Report of the Public Relations and Complaints Committee.
In the closing remarks of the MCE, he took the opportunity to once again express his appreciation to Assembly Members for the confidence bestowed in him in renewing his mandate. He again assured them of a continued harmonious relationship for the betterment of the Bekwai Municipal Assembly.
The PM, in his concluding remarks also expressed his gratitude again to the Assembly Members for voting him as their leader. He also assured them of his readiness to heed to their concerns.
