On Wednesday, 11th May, 2022 the Bekwai National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) assisted in the control of movements when the Oda River overflew its banks in the Bekwai municipality. This incident occurred at a road bridge that links Anwiankwanta to Bekwai Community. The occurrence made it difficult for motorists and pedestrians to cross the bridge to and from Bekwai Community.
Subsequent to a distress call, Bekwai Municipal NADMO led by the Municipal Director responded to this emergency situation and managed the situation till the flood drawn-out.
The team went further to assist households whose homes were affected by the overflow to evacuate with their valuable properties while ensuring that no casualty was recorded.
After a successful intervention, commuters expressed their satisfaction to the NADMO team for their swift response and the high level of professionalism exhibited at the scene.
