BEKWAI MUNICIPAL OBSERVES “MY FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL”

The Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour, Mrs. Lucy Ama Ankrah, Municipal Director of education and Officials from the Assembly and the Education Directorate have visited primary schools in the municipality to welcome newly admitted pupils of KG1 and primary to mark my first day to school.

This initiative which has been done over the years is to encourage the entrants to be happy and stay in school.

The team was divided into about five groups to cover the numerous primary schools in the municipality saw the Municipal Chief Executive, Director of Education and Heads of monitoring and Planning leading their various groups with each presenting educational materials such as pens, pencils, sharpener, exercise books to the new entrants and other goodies such as kalyppo, biscuits and toffees.

Interacting with the teachers and pupils, the Municipal Chief Executive Hon Kyei Baffour advised the kids to learn hard so as to achieve their future aspirations.

The Chief Executive advised the teachers not to look at the monetary gains in their profession but the joy of training future leaders.

He added that, the Assembly will continue to support education through the provision of infrastructure and other learning materials.

On his part, the Municipal Director of Education, Madam Lucy Ankrah stated that though the standard-Based curriculum will have its initial challenges, she encouraged the teachers to be up and doing so as to withstand the initial challenges that the SBC will bring.

Similar messages were carried to all the schools in the remaining areas by the other group leaders.
