The Bekwai Municipal Assembly has approved its composite budget for 2020 financial year at an ordinary meeting of the Third General Assembly Meeting held on 25th September, 2019 at Bekwai in the Ashanti Region.
In all, a total amount of Eleven Million, Eighty Thousand, Five Hundred and Fifty Seven and Seventy pesewas ( GH¢11,080,557.70) has been approved to cover the various expenses of the Assembly.
The Budget proposes an Internally Generated Fund of GH¢990.500.00 with the rest coming from central government and other donor support.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour in his speech thanked the Assembly Members for approving the budget and Fee-Fixing resolution for the Assembly. He pleaded with Assembly Members to get involve in revenue generation in the Municipality and reminded them to continue educating the people in their communities about their obligation in paying tax.
On his part, the Presiding Member of the Bekwai Assembly, Hon. Effah Michael was full of praise for the Assembly Members for their commitment towards the work of the Assembly.
He thanked them for the sacrifices they continue to make for the Assembly and wished them well in the upcoming elections which will be held on 17th December, 2019.
