The Agriculture Department of the Bekwai Municipal Assembly on Friday, 6th August 2021 undertook a hands-on training on the preparation of diverse domestic use products for farmers in Sebedie community. These products include liquid soap, ointment, hair food among others.

The Head of Agriculture Department, Mr. Emmanuel Mensah in his opening remark highlighted that in their off-seasons, farmers can produce these products for sale and for domestic use. This will reduce spending and subsequently enhance economic growth among them. He therefore encouraged them to fully participate in the exercise.

The facilitator for the program, Madam Juliana Gyamfuah Agyemang, explained the steps in producing these items in detail and supervised the process, as the participants took turns in having a hands-on experience.

In his closing remark, Mr Emmanuel Mensah encouraged participants to produce more of these products particularly liquid soap, in order to get enough to wash hands regularly, thereby fighting against diseases such as COVID-19, Cholera etc. and to make economic benefit from it.

The chief elder of the community thanked the team for choosing their community for this all-important training. He assured them that they will put whatever they’ve learnt into practice to ensure that the labour of the team is not in vain.
