A total of 152 young Ghanaians officially graduated from the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Skills Training Programme on Thursday, 24th October, 2024, after completing six months of intensive training aimed at enhancing their employability. The graduation ceremony, held at the Bekwai Municipal Assembly Hall, highlighted the program’s commitment to equipping youth with essential skills in trades such as auto mechanics, hairdressing, electrical work, carpentry, and masonry.

The YEA programme, a government initiative, seeks to tackle youth unemployment by providing practical, marketable skills for sustainable employment. In recognition of their hard work and to support their transition into the workforce, each graduate received a starter kit tailored to their chosen trade.

The ceremony attracted key community figures, including Parliamentary Candidate in the Bekwai Constituency, Lawyer Ralph Poku-Adusei, and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Bekwai Municipal Assembly, Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour.

In his address, Lawyer Poku-Adusei commended the YEA for achieving a milestone some viewed as challenging and lauded the program’s success compared to previous administrations. He further urged the new graduates to support him in upcoming elections, citing the government's commitment to advancing developmental projects in the Bekwai Constituency.
