A community engagement meeting has been held with the chiefs and people of Etwereso to discuss the concerns of residents and explore practical ways of addressing them.
The engagement, organised by the Bekwai Municipal Assembly, brought together the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Issaka Salia Salifu, staff of the Assembly, traditional authorities and members of the community.
The meeting provided an opportunity for residents to raise issues affecting the community and engage directly with the Assembly on possible solutions.
Key government policies and ongoing development projects within the municipality were also explained to the community as part of efforts to improve public understanding and participation in the development process.
The engagement forms part of the government’s broader commitment to promoting inclusive and participatory governance, where communities are given the opportunity to contribute to decisions affecting their development.
The Bekwai Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to extending similar community engagements to other communities across the municipality to strengthen collaboration with residents and traditional authorities.
The initiative is expected to enhance communication between the Assembly and local communities while ensuring that development concerns are identified, discussed and addressed in a more coordinated manner.
