The Directorate intensified teacher professional development to enhance classroom delivery and curriculum implementation.
On 30th January 2024, an orientation programme was organized for 95 newly recruited and reposted teachers. Participants were taken through the Code of Professional Conduct, Conditions of Service, Schemes of Work and the core values of the Ghana Education Service, while also being introduced to the operational culture of the Bekwai Municipal Education Directorate.
Further professional development followed with Subject-Based Professional Learning Communities (SBPLC) organized between 13th and 27th February 2024. The training targeted Primary School teachers who had challenges teaching specific strands of the Common Core Programme curriculum, providing practical strategies through peer learning and guided facilitation.
Additionally, a two-day Differentiated Learning Plus (DL+) workshop was organized for all 10 School Improvement Support Officers, focusing on Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL), assessment tools, class management strategies and the use of the DL+ monitoring dashboard.
